The Android 9.0 Pie TV OS update is coming with the following new features: PatchWall 2.0, TV Lock support, Data Saver for those on a capped internet connection, and Vivid Picture Engine that should greatly improve the picture quality performance. The new update should also offer smoother and faster UI performance, so that you will get the most out of your TV.

The Android 9.0 TV Pie update is currently being pushed for the Xiaomi Mi TV 4 Pro 55-inch, Xiaomi Mi TV 4X  Pro 55-inch, Xiaomi Mi TV 4X 43-inch, and the Xiaomi Mi TV 4X 55-inch models. The new official update is rolling out in stages for all Xiaomi users, and it will soon be available in your region. You can manually search for the new update by going to Settings> Software Update, or you can open the Home menu and then going to Help > Software Update. If a new firmware update is ready for download you can simply confirm the process and your device will complete the installation automatically.

The Xiaomi Mi TV 4A 32-inch and Mi TV 4A 43-inch models will also get updated starting soon and it should bring support for multiple new apps and other functions like for the models listed above. Note that the update process to Android 9 TV Pie version will take a while before it completes, and you shouldn't power off the device during the installation. In case the update has failed to reach your TV, then you shouldn't worry too much as it will eventually reach your TV in the following weeks.
