The Optix MAG161 portable gaming monitor has been announced by MSI for some time, and we will first see it live at CES 2020 in January. The specifications we have for this model aren't official yet, but we're sure that it will be a great product for those that are gaming on laptops.
MSI Optix MAG161 will pack an IPS screen with Adaptive Sync support up to 240Hz. The maximum size this portable monitor will offer will be 17.3 inches with a Full HD 1080p resolution. Also, this new model might only measure 15.6 inches. Portable gaming monitors aren't the most popular products, but they are starting to get better and better. The MAG161 Optix monitor should not be thicker than 5mm and it will offer USB Type-C and HDMI connectivity ports.
Since this model is a portable one you should know that it comes with a cool foldable stand that should protect it during handling or in case it gets dropped. Since the USB Type-C and HDMI ports are built into this model, then we can expect it to be compatible with all laptops packing such connectivity features. We will offer more info on this model when it goes live at CES 2020 in January. The event is held in Las Vegas at the start of every year, and that's when all the coolest new gadgets are presented.
Note: there is no info on the device's availability nor pricing, ut we can expect it to be launched soon after CES 2020, as the product has been announced and teased for a while now.
