2017 LG TVs and Newer Models are now Getting the Movies Anywhere App

Movies Anywhere is a streaming app owned by Disney that allows users to buy films and keep digital copies of such content. The Movies Anywhere service distributes movies from Walt Disney Studios, Dreamworks Animation, Sony Pictures, Warner Bros., 20th Century Fox, and Universal Pictures. The service is now available for LG TV models launched since 2017.

The Movies Anywhere service is not subscription-based so you will have to purchase each movie you wish to see and keep it forever. Now, LG TVs that have been launched since 2017 are the first to support the Movies Anywhere app and 4K Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos streaming through it. There are more than 8000 individual movies available through this app, so if you're using an LG TV that was launched in the recent years, then your version of LG WebOS supports the app installation.

Since the Movies Anywhere company is owned by Disney, then you should know that you will gain access to the latest films released by Pixar and Marvel. The service is currently available only in the United States, and hopefully if it gains enough traction it will be released in other countries some time in the future. Besides watching the movies your have bought you can also use the Screen Pass feature to share movies with your friends. The Screen Pass allows you to loan your digital copies to your friends.
